Our aim is to better the world. It is therefore important to us that our volunteers provide a good example for each other. Therefore

  • A leaning towards a normal healthy diet

  • Absolutely no drugs

  • No smoking

  • And no alcohol

Pros and Cons for this location

  • This place has a stunning view

  • You may be alone or joined by us, guests or other volunteers

  • Without a car there is not much there except the place it self and the magnificent nature

  • About 3 hours drive from Reykjavik

Our Iceland location is not for you if you are

  • a city person

  • a party person (although we do sometimes listen to loud music and dance)

  • you do not tolerate alternative lifestyles

  • you do not believe in gender equality

  • you can not be alone - you are not very independent

  • you have difficulties living with others (because you might be alone or there might be others)

  • you are dishonest

Getting around

  • During the school year there are free busses to the nearest towns of Hellisandur and Olafsvik

  • There are long distance buses to Reykjavik 4 days a week which you can also use to go to the towns in-between and sometimes to and from the airport

  • You can also hitchhike

  • If you are staying long term it might be worth buying yourself a car and resell it after. See www.bilasolur.is
